What does it mean to THRIVE?

Thrive stands for...

 T  The

 H  Human

 R  Right

 I   Is

 V  Voice &

 E  Equity

Here at R2T we believe the foundation to being free and equal is built from education. Navigating the law is a daunting task for most, so mystifying that it often works against us instead of for us as it should.

These systems were designed to protect us and our freedoms, but too often it takes advantage of those who aren't familiar with it...which is most people!!

Our mission is to improve legal literacy in the community through free expert-led workshops driven by community needs.

Our Story

Right to Thrive was founded by high schooler Elizabeth Shen, who was inspired by her own experiences as the daughter of first generation immigrants. She grew familiar to how confusing legal paperwork often was when her parents looked to her to help in deciphering the words. They thought a language barrier was at fault, but much of the legal jargon was unfamiliar even to Elizabeth, a native speaker.

Further experience in the legal field only supported her belief that something must be done to bridge the gap between the law and the community it was meant to serve.

She founded Right to Thrive in April of 2025, and has since coordinated extensive community outreach events, fundraising efforts, and workshops.

Our Team.
